After london, it was in the odéon quarter in paris that the place london opened its doors. a new multi-brand shopping location designed by simon burstein, former vice president of sonia rykiel for more than 20 years. “the new place to be” offers a selection of the latest creative labels and exclusive collaborations. interview with simon burstein:i wanted to offer something that was a bit different, accessible, but creative and timeless. each product has a story and we tell that story, the shops are a kind of theatre where we put the designers on show. i am very attentive to how clothes, or even the accessories and knitwear, are made. i think it’s a very important ingredient in what’s offered and the customers are sensitive to that. i really like the design, i like the inventive side and at the same time i like the traditions. i always ask questions about where it is made, by who, how and i like the word authentic, i like to be able to offer something that’s authentic. it’s the proposals that become part of people’s lives so they must resonate with something. i have the chance to work with people i appreciate, i like their work and how they do things and i really believe it feels like that.
