Designer: thom browne new yorklocation: école des beaux-arts, a space with the manneken pis sculpture in the centre, birds hanging from the ceiling and a ground completely covered with seersucker and roses. the women also pose like sculptures, wearing shoes in the shape of a dolphin. collection: inspired by the 18th century, mixing the own code of the designer as a new interpretation of marie antoinette, with “polonaise” dresses with glimpses and ruchés. we find the designer’s traditional preppy style mixed with the marine world, with seahorses or dolphins embroidered on fitted jackets, capri trousers or skirts with voluminous hips. the art craft is important through textures adorned with sequins for iridescent effects. to note: tulle hats and veils, platform shoes and animal bags.on the front row: cardi b and maisie williams (game of thrones).interview with thom browne:all the girls, it was all their own imagination and their own ideas of what their secret garden is and really taking the 18th century reference and mixing my american sportswear craziness into it and creating hopefully a fantastic world that people saw.i am always very serious about how things are made and i want people to see the seriousness in the craftsmanship and the fabrications. sometimes that’s the most important thing about fashion, the way that something is made. music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
