Boss - Women's and Men's Spring/Summer 2020 collection in Milan (with interview)

Collection: the first co-ed collection presented in milan for the boss line, which left the new york catwalk for the lombard capital. the big apple remains however a source of strong inspiration with its skylines that can be found on graphic patterns.as a result, a sophisticated collection with luxurious materials, clear and fluid lines, and monochrome colours. a certain sensuality is expressed through slit skirts and long silk dresses. sartorial is very present and mixed with a sportswear spirit.the voluminous loose coats are belted around the waist. leather is omnipresent, taking different forms such as matte and shiny, and plaited into a stiped knit. the colour palette is fresh and bright with mint green, straw yellow, flamboyant red, but also camel beige and refreshing white.focus: suits with jackets slightly pinched in at the waist, dresses with asymmetrical side and thin straps and a safari jacket with 4 pockets patched on the front. interview :ingo wilts :i live partly in new york and you know i wanted to see hudson yard one morning because i was jetlagged so i went there and i saw the high skyscrapers reflecting all the water colours from hudson river and then i took a picture and you saw this one suit, this print with all the blues, so this is a manipulated picture from what i took there. so, this was really the starting point with a lot of blues and then giving also a lightness with the white and also unexpectedly with the camel. camel is normally a winter colour but i wanted to make a winter colour also relevant for summer. it was important for us to have the knit leather, so you saw the striped leather dress, it was a knitted leather. all of our fabrics have an important substance to them, so there’s a lot of bonded fabrics, very fine yarns bonded with another fabric to give you a little bit more volume in the proportions. the construction is very important but also the play between the proportion. so, you saw either very fitted blazers with wide leg pants or you saw a long, little bit oversized blazer with very fitted pants. it’s very important for us to play with proportions or with design details so that, for example, when we mix sportswear and tailoring and we combine this in a more sophisticated, casual way. music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
