Designer: Tuomas MerikoskiInspiration: With « FINLAAND » as the title, the designer continues to explore his home country highlighting the plurality and diversity of women. He even convinced 4 people from Helsinki to come and show in Paris who were independent and free and who created their own identity wearing their veil. The casting is 100% wild with women of all horizons, shapes and sizes.Collection: A play on colours and materials. Coats, sweatshirts and jackets possessing built-in hats and berets resembling veils that protect faces. A very present play on prints with black and white psychedelic checks and small colourful flowers called “Forget-Me-Not" symbolic of Finland. The designer adds bright green pleats; suits are buttoned at the side and we see silk, flowing and light shirts and dresses.Note: The “Aalto” and “FINLAAND” logos placed on big comfortable jumpers.+ boots that open on the side.Interview with Tuomas Merikoski:We have a very diverse casting, it’s 100% street casting and we have 4 women who came from Finland especially for this.We really have a mixed collection this season. We have the « Forget-Me-Not » flower which is drawn in a very contemporary way and which is a symbol of Finland. We also have the black and white striped waves which are a bit psychedelic. Freedom of speech and to really allow everyone to be their true self, to take responsibility for themselves in order to shine.Obviously, it’s about Finland and I think it brought a really exotic side to the collection. There are many things in society and in people that inspire me but this isn’t to say that we are pro Finland, on the contrary we are confident referencing other cultures.Music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
