Announcement of Lucas Ossendrijver’s departure from Lanvin

access_time 00:01:57

Lanvin has just announced the departure of their designer lucas ossendrijver, head of the men’s collections department for 14 years.the dutch designer built the codes of masculine fashion from 2004 to 2015 next to alber elbaz.from 2015, after the expulsion of alber elbaz, lucas ossendrijver takes the reins alone, paying particular attention to materials, with his main objective to create a luxurious and functional wardrobe for men.his latest collection was shown last july. he always stays true to his role as a designer.the new general director for lanvin, jean-philippe hecquet, appointed last august, now has the difficult task of reconstructing both the men’s and women’s creative team after the departure of olivier lapidus.interview with lucas ossendrijver :jeanne lanvin was the first couturier to do menswear, and who really created a complete wardrobe, and so we renewed this idea to give it a new meaning for men, and above all to pose the question “what does an elegant man or a dandy desire to wear today?often when we think about luxury, we think of classical, but for me i think that luxury should be free, it should be creative, it should bring something more, because i believe that one day a man needs a suit, but another day he needs a tracksuit for sport and another day he wants to be a bit more wild, so for me all these aspects create “the man” and for me this is really modern. i find that my job, our job as a designer, is to draw, to work, to create clothes and to see how we can enhance them and this is what i always try to do, it’s the base of my work in lanvin since i began, it’s how to make a piece of clothing more special and new.
