Best of Cannes 2016

And here we are the 2016 edition of cannes festival has just finished in style. a “lookback” over the glamour on the red carpet and the most successful silhouettes.first of all the italian houses have dominated this festival, the big american stars opted for tailor made dresses, rather asymmetric at atelier versace, made stunning by blake lively and amal clooney. whilst at armani privé, dark chic was in order with the ambassadors juliette binoche and julia roberts. we loved the gucci dresses now so recognizable as well as those by roberto cavalli couture made even more sensual since peter dundas took over the house’s creative direction. now to the big french houses, dior was lucky to have its great muses present and the same goes for chanel highlighting kristen stewart, climbing the stairs for two films this year and the designs signed by karl lagerfeld looked sublime on vanessa paradis, member of the jury but also on her daughter, lilly-rose depp, who highly regarded for a first time at cannes.finally the trends with lots of options to remember.if you were to dare a vibrant color, go for the bright yellow, though hard to wear, it wins through this year on the red carpet.also note all the iridescent tones, the lamé and silver are all the rage whilst the gold gained ground, particularly due to the fabulous haute couture dior dress worn by marion cotillard. even bolder, the spider trend caught on. the cob web cuts in lace and transparency were much noticed.and of course it is not a red carpet with no leg revealed, from never-ending sky high slits to bella hadid daring no lingerie under her alexandre vauthier dress…no need to say much more...! on the contrary, the example lies with a tuxedo which remains an ultra-chic option; we applaud the choices of susan sarandon and charlize theron, with her dior suit which will remain a strong image from the 69th edition of this festival. music free of rights: bandit & nikit and music from the show
