Autumn/Winter 2014/15 Trend – The Sixties Are Back!

access_time 00:02:07

A definitive era for fashion, film and music, the 60s makes a comeback for next winter, reinstating all our favourite swinging styles. it is time to slip into shift dresses and buttoned-up coats as designers revisit the silhouettes made iconic by brigitte bardot and twiggy. team a knitted roll-neck with a thigh-skimming leather skirt, cinching your waist and elongating your legs...throw on a cape or sport geometric sixties prints, with one designer focusing on stars. designers also transport us forward into the next decade, for a glimpse of the 70s…aside from stars, we also find a constellation of 70s motifs appearing on the runway. flower power reigns supreme, as an explosion of psychedelic patterns inundate our usually sombre winter wardrobes with colours becoming zestier and more fluorescent, channelling a pop-art look.an animalistic allure returns with a twist - and shout - as major fashion houses propose a retro look with shaggy-haired jackets and multicoloured fur coats. make a statement with one of these luxurious insulating pieces that will get you noticed for all the right reasons. groovy baby!interview: jean-charles de castelbajac :there was this idea to use the first symbol that i ever used when i was 17, which were stars, because they are on the american flag, it was 1968, so i took this very popular icon that women don’t usually like too much, as it can be seen as too girly and so i put it on cashmere and put bright colours on top of grey, i had a lot of fun.elisa sednaoui :there was a real disco image and there were lots of outfits that you could wear to a nightclub or a party so that was great. there were lots of stars and also this graphic, slightly optical element, which i really liked.matthew williamson:we were looking at the 70s, the idea of 70s jet-set, bohemian sensibility, the territory that i am used to but for the modern woman.music free of copyright/ bandit & nikit - 2012
