Best of 2013 : Look back at this year's most memorable moments and fashions !

access_time 00:02:35

The year 2013 can be summed up by one big moving moment: the departure of marc jacobs after 16 years at louis vuitton. a totally black setting for his final show with a clock that turns back time closed the last fashion week in paris. another memorable event: the return to the big show of tom ford in london. equally, let’s not forget the revival of the schiaparelli house with a capsule collection by couturier christian lacroix.fashion makes constant comebacks, as do certain styles, such as the grunge trend that made a statement this year. long live doc martens, converse and even checked overcoats that are back on the streets once again but also in the collections of the big houses. not to forget that punk was also very in-vogue this year with a sublime exhibition at the met in new york.amongst these unforgettable exhibitions is that dedicated to azzedine alaia at the palais galliera. the n°5 culture chanel exhibition held at the palais de tokyo allows us to retrace the story of this legendary perfume.more recently at the grand palais, fifteen female artists were invited to design a contemporary work of art linked with the miss dior story, cult fragrance of the christian dior house perfectly personified by natalie portman.by alluding to art and culture, the big luxury houses act as patrons of the most celebrated monuments in the world. whilst ralph lauren invests in the beaux arts school in paris where a fashion show and a spectacular party take place, fendi participates in the trevi fountain renovations, bringing out a book photographed by none other than the house’s designer, karl lagerfeld.interviews:tom ford:by the end of 2014, we will have almost a 100 stores all over the world and i can no longer accommodate everyone who needs to see my presentations, one-on-one in my showroom so we have stores in almost every major capital in the world, we open london in the fall, so i just can’t do those small shows anymore. however, i also learned that i really miss doing big shows because i am a bit of a showman and i like to push myself and give myself challenges and as we say in america, ‘jump through a hoop’.christian lacroix:i was delighted to return under these conditions because it is slightly about fashion but it is more about a hommage, which means that it is something historical but also living at the same time. naomi campbell:his exhibition is emotional, i am very proud of my dad, my “papa”, and i think he deserves as many accolades as you can give him. he is the most unique designer in the world and what he has done this last century for women and their bodies, no one else has done that for the shape of women. i love him very much and i am grateful to him for being my papa.music free of right/bandit & nikit 2012
