The launch party for the H&M capsule collection by Isabel Marant in Paris.
A few weeks ahead of the official opening of the h&m capsule collection designed by frenchy isabel marant, the swedish giant held a very parisian-style party at the tennis club to celebrate this latest stylistic collaboration. decked out in unvarnished wood, with typical furniture façades, a disco ball, a dance floor and other concert happenings, the lucky few squeezed in to get a glimpse of the designer’s iconic, revisited pieces, ready to be sold worldwide. without fail, the designer’s relaxed and fashionable collection will entice one and all.
i wanted to organize a huge party that gathered together all the wonderful and funny people of paris.
it is also a certain form of recognition and it was a sort of challenge to say yes but also to ask myself ‘what, how and why’ and it quickly transpired that i could give and make accessible all my creations which already exist to many people who have sent me fan letters that say ‘yes, but i can’t let myself buy it’, i love what you do but unfortunately it’s too expensive’ or ‘i live in a country which does not sell your brand’ or ‘i had this piece that i loved but i lost it’, so there you go.
margarita van den bosch:
it’s so nice to present her in other countries and her style, her way of styling and mixing clothes and qualities but also casual with more party wear.
my nieces, i used to take care of them, i used to babysit them; now they are at cambridge university and when they heard that i was going to shoot for h&m and they already love h&m. they were like ‘when is it coming out?’ they are going to line up with all their friends and buy it.
i am very sincere in what i do, i always follow my instincts, i create what i would want to wear, what i want to see worn. effectively, i tried to create an easy and wearable look but with a certain attitude and a certain elegance.
they are always such feminine pieces and the lines are always so soft, there is nothing vampy about them. they are sexy pieces but made in a soft way.
i don’t dress imaginary women but i dress those women around me and that has always been my intention with my creations.
