Even in winter, we must re-discover our legs as the skirt is in the spotlight. present in all the catwalks, the pencil skirt first of all outlines a very elegant look: long, slim, often ending just below the knee, it can be coordinated with a jacket in a very 50’s style. of course it can be worn more relaxed; in the style of a rather chic schoolgirl.
with a skirt, we immediately play the femininity card, a trend enhanced by the presence of leggy models, corolla skirts are also called to, such as the leather version at prada or the floral one at rochas. the new skirts for this season are rather the asymmetric and play with other length games; these are beautifully worked at givenchy and dior.
at chanel, punk details are added, such as the zip.
it is true that the mini-skirt still has good days ahead, whilst its extra long version gains ground; perfect for a big night, even taking colours from some sophisticated embroideries.
clare waight keller :
i really looked at the girls that i knew when i was growing up, and you’re really trying to create your independence, sense of style, you want to be a bit tougher. so, it’s about pulling up your skirt really high so that it’s more sexy.
raf simons :
it can be because there are a lot of different kinds of lengths, they went from mini to long, sometimes even within one silhouette: skirts that are mini at the front and long at the back you can even wear turned around if you want.
karl lagerfeld :
i also really like skirts to the knee, and these short skirts with a zip…you are a decent woman, but you go and open your skirt a bit, you like to be playful…
