Thom Browne Spring Summer Women Collection 2013 in New York (ITW)
Thom browne loves conceptual performances and fashion shows. his shows are conducive to effective performances, largely from the mise en scene as well as the clothes themselves. inspired by the bauhaus, the designer plays with volumes and cut. he mixes with the genius theme of dance with clothes that are very architectural. squares collide and hippocampus is divided to form patterns in relief.

thom browne : the place, the concept along with the collection is always important, and for me the concept is sometimes equally as important as the clothes.
it's very much a homage to oskar schlemmer1920s bauhaus artist and loose interpretation of some concepts that he had in his ballets and also to how amazing he was. so trying to do something conceptual like that, and mixing my american preppy sportswear along the way.
i always like to play with american sportswear references, that's where the embroidery comes in, the mattress plads?? come in, the seersucker, all those very iconic american fabrics.
my inspirations never really come from fashion, they always come from art of architecture, so that's pretty much where it all comes from. and also classic tailoring.
