REDEMPTION Show - Women's Collection Autumn/Winter 2018/19 in Paris (with interview)

Creative Director: Gabriele MorattiTheme: refinement and rebellionCollection: an homage to Paris and couture. A rejuvenated couture, mixed with a rock and sensual mood. The Redemption woman is glamorous and isn’t afraid to show her legs or shoulders, her waist is marked by a wide belted corset. Focus on: a bustier top, knotted at the side, high-waisted trousers appear in leather, animal print, embroidered with sequins or loosely studded with stars. The checked and the hounds-tooth fabrics are draped, and the sheath dresses are backless. The asymmetric cuts of the miniskirts make them even sexier. The outerwear is voluminous with coats in printed faux fur enveloping the delicate silhouette. Leather jumpsuits and dungarees reinforce the idea of this femme fatale, rebellious and sure of herself self who is the embodiment of the label. To note: the laced boots which fall to the ankle. Interview: I wanted to do something crazy, which is to mix the love for music and grunge in particular, but to make it very romantic and very aristocratic so we went back a little bit to the first couture collection we presented here in Paris, in January of last year and I wanted to try and mix the two and to really pay an homage and write a love letter to things that I love very dearly, one is grunge music and the other is this city. She’s absolutely Parisian, that’s the sort of woman who’s inspired me from the beginning, my main inspiration is this lady that lives in-between Paris and Los Angeles so she’s got this very chic attitude like nobody else has in the world but she also has a rock&roll side so this time I really wanted to go all in this kind of inspiration and write what I believe to be a love letter to these two sides of the same woman. There’s a mix of very different materials, there are some very very light materials like Japonette and Georgette and silk, silk crepe, mixed with some very strong leathers so again it’s always for me it’s always very important to show the two sides, the yin and yang of this woman. Taste and style in terms of design really comes from the couturiers of the golden age of Paris so I really so I really wanted to pay homage to that side of Paris.Music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information)
