The month of November will begin with highly anticipated, big fashion collaborations.First of all Kenzo & H&M. 11th collection for the Swedish giant who called this time on the French house originally founded by Kenzo Takada in 1970 who’s always known for his colours and his exoticism. Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, current artistic directors of the house, have fun with all the codes, specifically keeping multiple references, translating the words: diversity, mix, opening. We find the interbreeding of men and women in this collection, from the famous tiger sweater, to flowers and zebra motifs. A collection embodied by seven artists including Iman Bowie, Chloé Sevigny or Rosario Dawson who have also been recognised for their commitment.A show as a musical was held in New York for the launch, staging by Jean-Paul Goude, who also created the advertising campaigns. Another collaboration which attracts attention. Carine Roitfeld and Uniqlo. It’s about the third collaboration between the most powerful women in fashion, founder of CR Fashion Book and Naoki Takizawa, artistic director of Uniqlo. This time Carine expanded her collection with 43 pieces, jackets and coats, always fitted, but a wardrobe with a masculine influence. We like the sexy side, of course with the pencil skirt, the lace and fur touches and especially the leopard print jacket and coat. The photos of the campaign are by Steven Meisel and the video by Fabien Constant, who directed the documentary on Carine, “Mademoiselle C”.We are ready for the queues in boutiques for the two collaborations which are due to come out on the 3rd of November.Interviews : Carol LimWe wanted to create something super special for this collaboration and wanted to induce a conversation between Kenzo Takada and our time at Kenzo, so we really bought to life pieces from the archives that we’ve never really played with before as well as looking back at 10 years at Kenzo and created mixed prints together to create really unique pieces. Humberto LeonWe want to see people wear the pieces with jeans or their own t-shirt or really kind of individuality, I think its about looking at it in your own way.Rosario DawsonI really love Kenzo, and its rly hard for some people to afford that, it cuts people off, and so it ends up being something you look at and like on somebody else but you can’t participate in it, it really means something when you can actually rock it and see what all the hype is about, because it is beautifully made and it is wonderful and it makes you feel good, and it feels good to wear it so I’m really glad we are getting to share that.
