Best of Milan - Fashion Week Women's Ready to Wear Autumn/Winter 2015/16

A look back on a busy and intense Milan Fashion Week. The Lombard capital takes on colour! In the street – with 5 out of 6 days of sunshine – (the streetstyle photographers enjoy themselves whole heartedly) – and above all on the catwalks! Prada, the leader of Italian fashion makes it its leitmotif, with an explosion of pastel and acidic colours which were the most successful. The Gucci, Fendi, Moschino, Jil Sander and Versace houses also imposed their colourful vision for next winter, treated most often in colour block, for a more radical, graphic and Memphis aesthetic. Winter had better watch out, the fur is going to warm up the season, with shearling, astrakhan, and mink regaining an interest (at Marni, Fendi, Tod’s, Dsquared, Trussardi, and Dolce & Gabbana). We will also notice a real research into the fabrics, a way to impose their differences and to personalise the propositions of each house (at Marco de Vincenzo, Fendi, Aquilano Rimondi, and Prada). A fashion which is decorated with numerous embroideries on rich fabrics (at Antonio Marras, Fausto Puglisi, Emilio Pucci). Each woman will be able to find something she likes, since the propositions are so varied, from minimalist silhouettes to others more researched. And several remarkable events during this week of fashion in Milan. Starting with the Gucci show, on the first day of fashion week. A page has turned since the arrival of Alessandro Michele as head of artistic direction. He carries out a radical change with a desire for a new romance. Like always, Philipp Plein stays true to himself with a performance in the room, this season with a huge roller coaster in the heart of the show space. Guaranteed excitement from the models, with raised arms making loops in the air. Fendi and Karl Lagerfeld celebrated in complete discretion their golden wedding anniversary. (50 years of loyalty). In fashion that’s a record! On the catwalk the maestro proves to use once again that he is always looking ahead. Another celebration, Giorgio Armani, with the 40th anniversary of the label and an infallibility to his style. And then the collections which announced to be their last: Peter Dundas at Pucci, and Alexis Martial at Iceberg, who haven’t however lost interest! And to finish, the note of softness at Dolce & Gabbana with an ode to the Mama! Pregnant, carrying their baby in their arms, or holding a hand, the mummy-models were the stars of the show! And alongside the collections were plenty of events, presentations with the remarkable presence of Salma Hayek, during a cocktail, the new face of Pomellato. Milan Fashion Week was rich in shows and events, with the biggest labels who renewed themselves and bring in the forward thinking changes with optimism for a brighter future.
